MEETINGS

Member’s Meetings are held twice a year. The Spring Meeting & AGM is held on the 3rd Saturday of March, and the Autumn Meeting on the 2nd Saturday of November.

The Spring Meeting & AGM of the Association will be held on Saturday 21st March 2020, at the Lakes Hotel, Ullswater Road, Penrith, Cumbria, CA11 8QT.

The cost for the whole day is £25, including tea/coffee and lunch, which will be a two-course buffet, with various options. Please indicate any dietary requirements at the foot of the Booking Form enclosed within your recent envelope.

For those who want the tea/coffee option only, £11 is payable.

Paul Salveson, who had a 44-year career on the railways, finishing as a senior manager at Arriva UK Trains will open our morning session. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Huddersfield and Bolton and has recently published a book on the S & C.

After the AGM and Lunch, Iain Parsons begins the afternoon session with a talk about Brampton and its early involvement with the railways.

Finally, Colin Kennington presents cine film he took in the 1980s of loco-hauled trains on the Settle & Carlisle, plus more recent video from further afield.
